This isn't really a mod, but if you've been wondering how frame pucks get installed, here's how.
What you get when you order a set of frame pucks from GR Harley. Pucks with adhesive backing, activator and instructions. They're about $50 from GH Harley. Here's the direct URL at the time of this writing:

A damaged puck. I tried sanding it to "fix" it, but that doesn't really work.
Right side puck before replacing.
The tools and material you'll need. They call for isopropyl alcohol, but I only had denatured. It worked fine as an adhesive remover and cleaner. Putty knife with tape wrap and something to apply the alcohol with.
Applying alcohol with paintbrush to loosen the adhesive. Wipe dribbled extra alcohol as you go.
Loosening the edges of the puck with the putty knife. Just using my fingernails at first wouldn't do it.
Ripping the puck off after loosening it. The adhesive backing and Styrofoam filler stick to the frame.
The puck peeled off but still hanging on. I thought it'd be a solid chunk of plastic, but it's a shell with foam, kind of like a bicycle helmet. I guess the intent is for it to be crushed in an accident.
Peeling the adhesive backing and foam off the frame. This is not easy, and it takes a while.
The bare frame after removing the puck. Some adhesive backing remains, but not much.
The puck debris you're left with.
Frame after removing the puck and cleaning with denatured alcohol. The instructions say NOT to abrade the frame.
New pucks ready to install. Note the protective, clear plastic backing on the puck. The tubes are the adhesive activator, one per puck.
Holding the new puck against the frame for a test fit.
Pencil tracing around where the new puck will fit.
Adhesive activator. You push on the dot to break an inner seal. Glass inside breaks, then the activator will flow to the brush tip.
Applying the activator the entire area inside the pencil outline. It'll erase the pencil outline, so be careful.
Peeling the adhesive backing off the new puck.
Applying vigorous pressure to the puck after sticking in place. You're supposed to do this for 60 seconds.
Pencil outline left over. You can clean this off with a pencil eraser or numerous other ways. Just don't use alcohol.
Et voila, finis! The new puck installed.
