I have a 2010 xt , I bought a cable but then found out that ecmspy wants 75$ just so I can connect to my bike. tunerpro rt is not free either.
I bought a bluetooth modem to try and use ecmdroid, I could not get that to work.

All I want to to is read codes and do basic troubleshooting , are there any options that dont cost an arm and leg?

Tunerpro RT is actually free. You just have to wait 10 seconds every time you start it if you haven't registered. It's the best option for your bike. It's what I use, totally free, plus a $30 cable.

Hi - ECMSpy for Mono in demo mode (without activation) does allow you to read codes, view live data, and perform basic diagnostics. You can also make backup copies of your eeprom. And capabilities get much better when you activate the software.

As WiredForStereo mentioned, Tunerpro RT is free (registration optional but encouraged).

oh ok, Ill try those options again.
I was just ticked off at the time because I cant get ecmdroid to work.
Also, Ive got the EBR ecm , Ive heard all sorts of conflicting stories about what programs are safe to use with it.
can I just do the basics with ecmspy on that ecm, or will it screw it up?

thanks.
