My friend for years (best friend) ended up in the ICU yesterday from drinking and driving. Hes always been a great guy but recently in the bpast few years got some really bad influences in his life. Doesnt help that he turned 21 in aug and still had the bad influencing "friends" around.

He was hanging out with one said friend, he was driving, there was also a female in the back (wore her seatbelt.) Well my friend rolled his car 3 times in a turn, flew out of the window and landed 30ft away from the car. The bad friend didnt wear a seatbelt but was fine. The girl was ok as well.

Just wanted to remind everyone to be safe out there and dont do stupid ****. Me and my friend lost touch cause i didnt want to go where he was heading but i still went to his side as fast as i could when i heard. I lost it alittle when i seen him, that time of emotional shock is never expected when you see someone you love like that.

He is doing better now, fractured spine bone, spleen, liver, gallbladder all messed up. Internal bleeding is slowing as well. Last i heard he is stable, tube is out of his throat, and he is talking but alot of pain (BETTER THEN DEAD I TOLD HIM!).

Im also going to put him back in the ICU when he heals!
Going to be tough to recover physically, financially, and emotionally from this for him tho.

Be safe please.

Very sorry to hear this.
Went through a similar thing with a friend a few years back.
My hopes for a speedy recovery in all accounts for your friend.

This is always tuff to hear. I crashed my bike back in 2003 and had to get life evacuated to the nearest hospital, via helicopter. I went into a coma and didn't wake up for a week. I was 18 young, and very lucky to be alive. Was in and out of the hospital for months. suffered a sub crainel fracture (just behind my left ear). I lost my sense of smell and taste, still cant smell to this day, taste came back after about 9 months. Plus.i have hearing lost in my left ear. But you just can't let it stop you, our your friend. People think I'm crazy because I still ride, but they just dont get it, you just can't stop riding. Needless to say many prayers were said for me and I pray your buddy gets better too.

I can appreciate you story about bad influences. Back in 1989 I had a girlfriend who started hanging out with the "party crowd", drinking and smoking, things she had never done. She started thinking she was to cool to date me because I didn't partake in her new lifestyle (still don't). She got drunk and drove her car into oncoming traffic and died on impact as did the other driver that she hit head on. Hopefully this will be the turnaround for your friend and he will appreciate your positive influence. Prayers his way for a speedy recovery.

We all make mistakes in life! Some outcomes are better than others, and the people in our lives are the ones that suffer most. This fellow is lucky to have u as a friend. I hope all goes well for him.

We all make mistakes, luckily he didn't take anyone's life! Hope he gets well soon [up]

Sorry to hear that. Hope he'll get better soon. Be strong for him. You're a true friend.

Sorry to hear he's injured, but very glad he didn't kill anyone else in the process. Hopefully this is enough to make him wakeup and realize how life should be lived, but not so bad that it makes living difficult. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Sorry to hear this man. I lost a friend on an overdose who was going down the same path. I ended up seperating ties with him for a while because of his behaviors.

I have very strong feelings about drinking and driving. I won't even ride my bike if I have had more than 2 beers. Period!!
I am an avid 4wheeling nut and it is the norm for people to drink and wheel. Same thing is now happening with people and the side by side rigs. People are drinking and driving down the trail. I have seen a few really bad accidents and a few deaths because of it.

I hope your friend is ok and comes back 100%. I also hope he wakes up and changes his path.

Hopefully your friend will tell his story and help others. Wish him a quick recovery from all of us.
