Front and Rear stands

Everyone here is going to say t rex or pit bull but I have a cheaply rear stand from cycle gear and a cheap front one from ebay and they have both performed flawlessly. I just think the amount the others want for their product is obscene when I've used them in the past and don't believe they do anything any better.

Here's a pic of my 9sx up on both

Got mine from www.flyncycle.com several years ago

Get the steering stem stand for the front though. I bought these before I realized the forks were different lengths. They do the job but they're not the right tool and aren't much help in getting the front wheel off.

Get rear stands that have a swing arm option AND a spool option so if/when you get the sliders from us, you can use them! :p

Pit-Bull if you got the cash. T-Rex stuff will work but its flimsy. You get what you pay for.

We've got T-Rex, and I wouldn't think to call them flimsy. They're a middle of the road price point product. For the average user, they're plenty strong/durable/stable. For a racer who's using them dozens of times a day on track weekends, with them bouncing around in the back of a truck all the time and so on, a pit bull set is bullet proof but pricey. T-Rex are more than adequate for the average user, while only being a little more $ that the bargain priced stands that really do feel unstable.

I also second the head stand for the front. We have the regular fork lift, and it's okay for basic cleaning jobs, but anything involving axle removal is a pain. The head lift is the way to go, no questions asked.

Everything is flimsy compared to a Pit Bull set up, but it is pricey if you buy new. The Pit Bull is extremely sturdy and confidence inspiring. But as mentioned above, you don't have to have a Pit Bull set up, but it will last you for decades. Check out Craigslist, there are used Pit Bull stands that pop up regularly. I got a front & rear set for $200. I have seen several since as well, so it isn't a one time smoking deal.

my T-rex stands are 8 yrs. old, bought the adapter early this year...paid 100 bucks on ebay for the set, new and don't think they are flimsy either. just my opinion:p

Those look pretty comparable to T-Rex. Just make sure you either get regular lift pads for the back (non spool version) or add some swingarm sliders with grooves for a spool lift.

Also make sure the rear slider is wide enough for a Buell swingarm. They are wider than most due to the belt drive.
