Front and Rear stands

There are SO many out there.....I DO have the Pit Bull one for the front that uses the pin in the stem. Also use the Pit Bull that catches under the swingarm. I am happy with them.

I bought these a while back. They used to be called Gorilla stands. Now they are called Venom stands. For the price they are very nice. I love them! I don't think they had the the triple tree attachment when I bought them, but you can buy the front with the attachment now. Need to see if I can just get that to add to my set.

KapscoMoto Venom stands

Here is a thread I made about them after I bought them with lots of pics.

Sky's the limit in stands. If you don't ride over the winter and you also wrench your own, they are pretty much a necessity and money well spent. I have a pair of Lochhart Phillips that came with the bike. Nice and sturdy.

If you are going to widen the swingarm for 240-300 rear tire + belt you will need an appropriate rear stand or an adjustable rear stand to use it before and after the modification.

They all look like identical to me. What do the stands that are double the price have that the cheaper ones don't?
I can understand the triple tree vs the front fork hold. But it's just metal tubes with wheels on them. Are the cheaper ones made of broom stick handles or something? Seems like buying a $40 Monster HD cable vs a $5 generic HD cable. They will perform identically, one would never see the difference, except in the thickness of your wallet. Or am I way off base here?

My guess is tube thickness and some of the less expensive ones are made in a few pieces which can make them less sturdy. That being said, my cheaper ones do the job ok for my needs.

Same goes for high quality cables! :p

The triple tree is better than the front fork hold because with the front fork hold you can maintain only the wheel, with the triple tree you can maintain the wheel and the fork both. For expensive stands they use high quality metal tubes and high quality welding. Pay attention the pin diameter, width and height for the triple tree front stand. Pay attention width and height for the rear stand. The good manufacturer provides motorcycles models the stand is compatible with.
