So after doing a few laps at the Nurburg Ring, I notice a ticking noise coming from the front rim/brake rotor area. After looking, I found that the the front brake rotor is loose from the rim. Looked in the manual and re-torqued the bolts to spec that hold the rotor to the rim. All bolts were in spec, didn't need to be tightned. Was wondering if this is what they call a "floating rotor". Thanks J

Lucky!

Yes, it's a floating rotor because it can move about 1/8". All points should move the same amount.

Better safe than sorry. You don't wanna mess around with your breaks. If it ever happens again. Wait till they cool off, then free up any stuck points by pushing on the rotor a little. Brake cleaner helps clean the points as well. I'd wipe it off the paint though.

After I ordered and mounted the new FRONT BRAKE ROTOR MOUNTING KIT from Eric Buell Racing it no loger 'floats' when I try to move it.But still is a floating rotor!!
