So a new front end off a GSXR1000 has made its way into my possession. Their really nice (gold forks) and would look great on my Firebolt. My question is, will they fit? What (if anything) would I have to alter?

you would have to check into spacing on everything

the easiest method may be to find out the diameters around the triple trees and such and do a tree-down swap using spacers and whatever steering-stem bearings are the right size

I've paid attention to a lot of this stuff on older bikes from the 70s and 80s but not on modern stuff

May wait until the end of the season to attempt the swap, dont want to give up ride time [up]

I have the whole Front end, triples, bars, forks, etc. I dont know a lot about this kinda stuff when it comes to motorcycles, I come from a Downhill mountain bike background. Applying that knowledge to this (not sure if its applicable) the headset just has to be adapated to the head-tube, make sure ride height will be okay, my only wonder would be concerning the triples. Im assuming that I would have to use the Gixxer's triples, so that the axle/spacing would be dead on? Probably would need a GSXR ignition in that case...because the buell ignition will most likely not fit...hmmm

Thoughts?

im guessing the gsxr forks are a smaller diameter and the ytiple tree sem might be way different cus those use ball bearings unlike our pressed in bearings. im pretty shure the bottom of the forks will co0me off(the parts the holds the brake caliper and axle) . if you rally want gold fork tubes just get them anodized less of a head ach in my opinion
