In a common engine rotaion should the front isolator bolt be extremely tight? I can't seem to loosen it up with an allen wrench. It just wants to twist the rubber. Are they just really that tight to get off?

It should be tight, its a large bolt and chances are it also has some corrosion. I had to take a single allen wrench and put a small cheater tube on it.

Be careful not to bind it. I twisted the rubber part out of mine last time I pulled the bolt out. Isolator junk after that.

^ Very good point, but if your doing this there isn't really much option. If it does look like its getting bad its a good time to replace it.

Glad you mentioned that 2004xb12s, I also was able to remove my hand once I broke it loose by working the jack supporting the engine up and down.

If you get it out make sure you anti-seize the threads and the shoulder of the bolt, will make it easy to get out next time.
