Front motor isolator

How do you tell if its going/is bad? Mine looks as if the bracket bolted to the motor is sitting on the head of the retaining bolt for the rubber isolator itself....I also have small rubber slivers all around the head of the bolt.

Kidd has your steering damper ever made contact with your fender? What model is yours? My friend has an Scg and his fender is cracked due to contact,I want one but want to make sure it will clear on an S or SS.

crxtasy169, It made contact a couple of times when i had front end a bit too loose, but it has just a tiny scratch on it. now after i adjusted the suspension, no problem. Oh and i havee S -model.

Just curious.....but could you add a spacer between the motor mount and retaining bolt. this would just be a temporary fix till I could locate/afford a new front isolator. Mine just seems to have slid down (or is the sign that its toast). I pulled the bolt, jacked the motor till it lifted the bike and the mount is stiff as hell with no play from side to side. Also curious as to how the front mount is constructed.....is the isolator made into the mount or is it a seperate peice that is pressed in?

Thanks for the pic Joel9. Mine looked just like your 1st pic....just not as bad. I stoped by the hardware store and picked up a large washer and a large rubber washer to fill the gap and put the mount back up where it should be. It should do till I get a new mount.
