What type of front stand would I need if I was changing/working on the forks and trees?

Yeah the only thing you can use to work on the trees, is something under the muffler or a strap, to suspend the frame from the ceiling.
I usually use a auto jack with rubber pad combined with a rear stand. I strap the rear tire down so the rear is secure.

If you just want to work on the forks and/or top tree you can get away with a stem stand which uses a pin that goes up under your bottom tree into the steering stem. But obviously then you cannot remove your bottom tree.
These are great wheel and fork work though.
