I am in need of a front tire for my 9sx. I ride it 30 miles one way to work everyday and have a gravel driveway that is 1/2 mile long. I am wanting something that will not be tore up so easy on the gravel drive way. Any suggestions out there as I have not bought one before as I used to just take it to the shop and have them put one on. But now there is no shop within 80 miles of my new home. So I am gonna do it myself.

Front tire goes bad pretty fast. My rear tire already almost overcome second front tire and are heading to third front tire.

Get some continental conti motions. They should only cost you around $165 a set. They’re more of a sport touring tire so they should handle the gravel driveway fairly well. They require a little bit of warm up but I’ve never had any issues with grip and I ride like a *******.... ....sometimes.
I run the conti motions and get about 10k out of a set.
Check em out. You pay for a set what most people pay for a rear.

I just got a set of Conti sport attacks, put them through their paces for almost exactly 100 miles in 37degree weather and they STUCK! $186 to your door or mine (whichever you choose) from Chaparral motorsports. I would not mix and match front and rear tires or vice versa, different compounds diff tread patterns do different things. I highly doubt anything other than a dualsport tire is gonna wear differently in gravel. Your main concern should be the other 29.5 miles your riding. Just my two cents. I'm sure Sgt. Shinko will chime in shortly with his FLOP IN characteristics, screen shots of his on board computers lean angle read out, and how he once "backed it in" on Shinkos in a corner at the TT and passed the late great Joey Dunlop and went on for the win! John...........

you rang?????

and how he once "backed it in"
i only use such terminology and phrasing when posting up personals on Craigslist.

Tis my week for unlimited battery recommendation requests so have no thoughts whatsoever on your tire situation.

Conti's are good, still made in Germany. Michelin, Dunlop and Bridgestone are also good and not made in China. I would steer clear from Metzler and Pirelli, both companies have motorcycle tire manufacturing plants in Tryina.

The Conti Sport Attacks are my favorite tire for my XB, but the rear only lasts 3k miles. The Road Attacks last longer, but not sure about gravel grip. Anything short of knobbies are going to handle about the same on your gravel drive.

I've gotten decent mileage out of my Michelin Pilot Road 2, but the fronts just wear a lot faster than the rears. I've not had a chance to run the Contis, but I can vouch for the Michelins on a daily ride and on dirt/gravel.

Unsure how everyone wears front tires faster than rears... I go about 1.5-2 rear tires for every front tire. Best all around tire for me up until now is the Pilot Power 3’s. 8-10k on the rears and 10-15k on fronts. Currently trying the Pilot Road 5 and looking at similar results.

I have the Michelin pilot road 4 trail tires, but they're on my triumph explorer, great tire so far, really good in the rain. Can't speak for milage yet.
I got around 13 thousand front and back on a set of Conti's TKC 70's great tire on road and very good off road also, they were on the Triumph explorer before the Michelins.

I'll make you a deal on a Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rossi front tire. This is a very rare and expensive tire, and I have been saving it for just this occasion.

For a fellow Bueller.... $200 shipped from my LA warehouse.
