For sale is my beloved 2009 Buell XB12S. This is a supremely fun motorcycle to ride, and it has been tastefully modified to suit my needs/wants…

It started life as an ’09 XB12Scg (picked it up with 6k miles from Aurora Suzuki in Seattle, WA) but the lowered suspension was doing nothing for me (I’m 5’11, 235), so off I went in search of the proper way to address this. I transplanted a set of ’09 SS forks (dramatically improved travel and taller stance), along with a Penkse shock (also completely adjustable for compression, rebound, preload, and ride-height). I also replaced the stock front fender for the very cool STT High-mount fender (beak) and fork guards. I was looking for more travel and suspension, but wanted something sportier than a Ulysses.

But the farkling doesn’t end there (of course…)—For increased comfort, I added the very nice, gel-equipped Buell Select seat (a great seat), a set of Tag T2 Fat Bars that rest in Diesel Moto Adapters/Risers, and a set of ASV C5 levers. The front brake master was upgraded to a Nissin Radial unit for increased power and improved feel (works great with the 8 piston ZTL-2 Caliper…), and the small flyscreen was replaced with a nice, taller Zero Gravity unit. The bike is exceptionally comfy. During the last oil change (right at 9k miles), I installed a K&N Air filter, re-routed the crank breathers (they no longer empty back into the intake, but out to a filter and catch can set-up), and installed a very nice GB Muffler (very nice hand-crafted mufflers that sound great and provide for a nice increase in ponies and torque).

The rear end was farkled with a Trojan Horse RRC Tail Tidy unit (a complete unit with plate mount, etc), Oberon dual-sided billet LED turn signals at both front and rear ends, and I replaced the stock ugly mirrors with a very nice Rizoma Dynamic unit on the left side.

This is a clean, reliable motorcycle. No leaks, no issues, no headaches. The Buell Thunderstorm engine really is surprisingly strong and trouble free, and the belt drive makes for a very simple motorcycle in terms of maintenance--needing only oil and filters at 3000 mile intervals. Oh, oil used has always been Mobile One V-Twin 20w50, in both the primary and engine. The tires are Pirelli Diablos on both ends, and have plenty of tread left. This bike handles superbly and is equally as happy carving decreasing radii corners or cruising at 85 on super slab. The steering is almost telepathic! And averages around 45mpg.

I am only selling it because I came across a dream bike (a ridiculous STT... Lol) and I am selling a couple toys in order to secure its acquisition (I’m sure most of you can relate… LOL!!). I am currently in Southern California, and do not mind facilitating shipping, etc. Or, I can pick you up from a local airport for a fly ‘n ride (I would not hesitate to ride this bike anywhere). I am in possession of a clean, clear, in-my-name title. Bike has never been down or crashed in any way. :)

I’m asking $6900 obo. Would like to sell asap, so please feel free to pm an offer--worst I can do is say "no thanks.". ;) Pardon my poor pic quality--I am not a photog by any stretch of the imagination...

Thanks!

Joel, I do, although this one is a great bike and better in every way than my old STT. Unfortunately (or fortunately...:D ), I'm looking at an STT with crazy mods too...

What's the big difference between a s/scg and a stt that would make you want to get rid of a perfectly good bike to get one?
