Thinking of trying the wide front tire mod where you mount a 150 tire on the front of your Buell? I sure am going to do it!
Here is a awesome brand new Bridgestone Battlax 150/60ZR17M/C BT-016 Ultra HP Sport radial tubeless motorcycle tire. If you are not familiar with this tire, do an Internet search. What a tire! That's why I chose it.
This is a brand new tire, still has the facorty label on it.
So why am I selling this beautiful brand new tire?
I bought it because I read some threads on the forum here of guys going to the mod putting a 150 oversized tire on the front. I am going for that low, fat, mean look too, especially on the front, but rear too, as I am running a 200/50 on the rear. Within the threads it was discussed that during manufacture of motorcycle tires the plys of a rear are wound in one direction to withstand the forces of acceleration, and that the plys of a front tire are wound in the opposite direction to withstand the forces of deceleration and braking - and so that to mount a wider tire made for the rear on the front, simply mount it so the rotation in the opposite direction of what is marked on the tire. The other matter of discussion was what Buells a 150 tire would fit on the front. I understood a 150 would fit a '05 XB12R. Well, the shop I brought the tire to mount said it didn't fit mine. They said they mounted the tire and it just barely wouldn't clear the fork tubes. They said a 140 would fit. So I am going to go with a 140. So I say all of that so that you can be aware before you buy. I am thinking some of the guys mounting a 150 on the front are mounting them on other Buells and not the '05 12R.
I am asking $100, and I will pay for the shipping within the U.S.
