With super unleaded only being about 91,maybe 93,does anyone use an octane booster,if so which one, and what have the results been?

It would probably be overkill and unnecessary, but I wouldnt mind burning some VP fuel just for the smell of it.

91 works fine.i use booster just because of the multi grade pumps and getting a little 86 or 89 from the previous person.

anrkizm, I used to do the same thing... then I looked it up. Only less then a third of a gallon hang out in the hose from the previous user.

i only use it if i get 91 oct.1 quart of 86 in 2 1/2 gal of 91 isnt 91.when i get 93 i dont worry about it.93 is getting harder to find.

you guys have shit fuel in the states,in oz 98oct at every bowser, bikes and cars love it.we olso have 91 and 95oct

Just wondering how you guys go with your hot cars with 91oct.I have a few V8s,My 09 Ford Super Persute ute has a 315kw (422hp)from factory 5.4lt doc.It needs 95oct min.My old Fairlane 351 Clevland would ping its ass off without 98oct.You must run low total timing, and comp.[sad]

91 is about all we have ... sometimes I come accross 93, but not often. about once a month I run some octane boost in the Buell. I have been running with NOS in mine, works well, but nothing too noticable. I notice mine run cooler with it surprisingly. I always put some in my track bike before I run it on the track all day.

In the states they are tunes to run on 91-93 if they are a Higher Performance car/truck.

I know my buddy has a supercharged LS7 in his S-10 and has it tuned to run off E85 for the higher Octane ratings it has.

Lot of options you just need to setup the ECM or Carbs to suit.

octane ratings are different in the states and canada.a us oct rating of 93 is the same as your 97 or 98.so your 95 is our 90 or 91.maybe thats why high performance is real big over here.:D

I use 110 oct.,Purple fuel from the Race shop here. Buy 5 galons at a time.at 7.80per. gal.,Every third fill up. 1/4 cup added. takes a few miles and you can feel a small difference. Exhaust Smells GREAT Too! AND as a added bonus you can use as a after shave .Warning may cause skin rash or watering of the EYES.Otherwise 91 will have to do![smirk]:D

i can get 93 at every station that ive been to in MO. I have used seafoam just to clean the injectors every once and a while

Did some reserch, most of the world use an octane rating called Research octane number,(RON).But USA Canada and Brazil use the average of two ratings (RON)and (MON)Motor octane number,Witch is writtern on pumps as (R+M/2)or(RDON)or(PON)and the octane rating is shown 4-5 points lower than a (RON) rating. So your 93 is the same as our 98.[up]
