I've been away for a while, and have returned with a 08 1125r, still miss my 06 xb12s lightning, but only a little! my problem is that I know squat about the 1125, and its started dying on me in traffic the other day then stalled. it starts right back up, but I know its been running like crap as of late.. how do I pull codes on this beast? and where can I reference the codes once I get them? I read that it will pretty much self diagnose, and I'm not an idiot or a newbie to bikes, I just would prefer to have a knowledgable OWNER of a 1125 guide me through the procedure, rather than you tube. this forum[you guys] saved me with my xb years ago, and I'm forever grateful! I hadn't checked in for so long here I almost forgot my password, and then I was surprised I was still on the board!! thanks in advance, I appreciate your taking time for me, and my problems, when we have so little to spare in our own lives nowadays! all I know is that this 1125 takes me to my happy place, and makes me pay attention in a way my other bike don't!
other bikes? 04 fjr1300, 06 heritage softail, 08 Ktm 530 exc/r,78 rd400, and a couple 4 tire rides

Buell 1125 Series accessing fault codes very easy as follows:

IGNITION SWITCH OFF
KILL SWITCH ON
SIMULTANEOUSLY HOLD DOWN TOGGLE & MODE BUTTON
IGNITION SWITCH TURNED TO ON.....NOW READ ANY ACTIVE/HISTORICAL FAULT CODES

Click link...scroll to table of contents....all FC's listed in order.

"Runs like crap" generic for "could be anything". On an aging 1125 it's most always failing spark plugs and fuel pump.

thank you, ill pull the code, and I'm pretty sure that I read that I will have to roll the motor out of the frame to get to the spark plugs? I know I can't see them. and I know its not going to be as easy as my xb12s. I know that ill be putting iridium ngk in it when it comes to that, any recommendations on heat range? I live at 4200feet, but head for the coast if I go anywhere, so the highest altitude I cross is around 6k feet, then back down to sea level. with my xb12s I got dpre 6,7,&8s and noticed the best response to the 7s. they were easy.i know this is going to be a learning experience, or a getting to know ya better session with this
bike, as I should anyway, lol! it is the newest to me, and haven't had any problems before now. I only run chevron supreme, or non ethanol premium in all my bikes but I didn't keep the 1125 full all winter because I would ride it every chance I got when the temp was above 32 so it might've had a chance to form some condensation....all the other bikes have been fine so far, the Harley is a slug as usual but no stutters or misses. where am I to locate the fuel filter, or is it on the fuel pump? I guess id better just go read the book instead of bothering you !!! most of the time buells are pretty straitforward, this 1125 is so different! I love this thing! none of the other litre bikes in this area are very happy with me, but only because I have instilled a vision of a tail light they will never forget in their minds!!! all that I know has been changed is the Jardine can, is there any way to tell if the ecm has been remapped? I need to get or make a cord to plug it in, but I will need to find out what program to run that on my Mac, any suggestions on that too will be appreciated

You're welcome. You're answers below:

1-ALL BUELL 1125 MODEL SPARK PLUG: OEM part #---V0075.1AM SUFFIX B4S if buying thru local dealer
Factory part # actually assigned to NGK CR9EKB....9 is the heat range...RETAIN STOCK HEAT RANGE

2-Buell XB and 1125 series spark plug change quite the opposite. On XB it is the REAR plug which is challenging and SM calls for engine dropped down for access. On 1125 series it is the FRONT plug which is challenging. 1125 engine does NOT have to be dropped down to access/change front plug. Combination of 3/8th drive shorts, swivel and square drive socket caps get job done. SEE LINK BELOW FOR SAME AND VERY HANDY TO HAVE.

3-I know nothing about and have no experience with 1125 ECM's....mapping...deciphering installed programs and cells.
