Fuel Pump Issue?

Today I started the bike like normal....key on, fuel pump on, light goes out, start bike....but then the fuel pump light immediately comes back on and I can still hear the fuel pump while the engine is running. Any ideas what the problem is? Is my fuel pump going bad? The bike seemed to run ok, maybe a bit rougher than usual.
I searched but didn't find anything about this exact situation.

That's the check engine light. You can check the code with Ecmspy or by jumping the pins.

low level fuel sensor possibly, hence the fuel light... how much fuel do you have in the tank, best guess? wiggle test the wire harness from the fuel pump an see if the light goes out and or the engine runs differently...

Thanks for the responses. I finally had a moment to check the manual and it is the check engine light. Now to figure out what the cause is....

I had a fuel-related engine light issue that ended up being caused by a short in the full pump wire that's common(ish) on these bikes. Check my comment halfway down pg 1 of this thread for a picture and explanation if everything else fails.

^ Thks for the suggestion. Haven't had a chance to mess with the bike since the CEL came on.
