Fuel pump

Went to ride 2006 XB12R before winter set in and fuel pump not coming on before start. Getting trouble code 33 (fuel pump). Bike ran fine during last ride. Can fuel pump just fail all of a sudden? Bike has less than 2500 miles. Leaning towards fixing pump myself with all the great pointers on forum then will probably put bike up for sale.

a wire could have popped loose, also check fuses

If it's not a loose wire or a fuse then your wires could be chaffed along the pump. Easy enough to pull the pump and repair the wires, there are multiple posts that give the step by step and pictures.
