Fuell pump light XB12SS

Hello all,

A little problem that occurs on my 09xb12ss,and I don't know what to make of it. My problem only occured two times, both when it was raining. My problem: when I drive some time in higher revs(4-6000), the light of the fuell pump lights up, and it will only go out when i shut the bike down. I already tried to cool it down( stop riding, vent kicks in, and when it stops, the indicator is still there). Is this serious? Anybody with a simular problem or knows what this means?

Assuming you mean the light w/a gas pump on it, that is the reserve light. I have had the light come on while riding,stop for a bit, and be off when I go to start it back up. I think the low fuel sensor gets made while riding, but once on the side stand and cooled down, the fuel covers the sensor when the ignition is turned back on. Mine freaked me out once or twice untill I noticed the trend of gassing up directly after it happened. Should be nothing to worry about.
