As some of y'all know, a woman pulled out in front of me awhile back. It doesn't look like my forks are bent, but I don't know if I trust em. The bike is in pieces in my shop and I have big plans for my baby:D

A murdered out flat black paint scheme w/ blood red details. Blacked out rims w/ the red lip instead of chrome. I still need a replacement guage cluster, and probably a throttle cable assembly. It also broke 1 of the connector plugs behind the guage cluster...not quite sure what to do there. Alot of parts I'm buying new from
TrojanHorse & TwinMC
I'll post pics of progress :D:D Doin it all myself and plan on doin some customizing to make it my own.

If anybody has any spare parts they need to get rid of....or if you just need to clear some space for your new project, whatever the case maybe. I have cash in hand ready to buy

Sorry to bump old topic, but looking @ my forks they do not look bent. I don't trust em though. Once they're off the bike how would I go about finding out if they're bent? Should I bring them to a shop and allow them to put em on a jig to check em? Or is there an easier way to do it on my own? Once again any info is greatly appreciated. - Cb on his Xb

You should disassemble the forks to check the internal bushings. With the inner legs removed, you can roll them along a flat surface, letting the leg bottom hang off the edge, and check for any high or low spots. You can also check your damper rods to make sure they are straight.

It would be better to check them if you have any doubt that they are straight.

Hey EricZ, appreciate the tip +1 That to me sounds like a must;)

On a different note, I think I've changed my mind on the paint scheme just a little[smirk] Still keeping the flat black scheme but leaning towards the punisher skull on air box cover and Gas mask up front:D

I have some parts taken off my 2010 xb9sx, let me know what you're looking for, I'll see if I can help.

I appreciate it InfantrySoldier, but I'm not sure if any of those parts are universal[confused][confused]
If anybody would like to put in their 2 cents hahaha I feel like an idiot for not knowing this shit!!!! Harley Davidson here in BR,La is absolutely no help.... There's another topic I have started in the BPG (Buell Parts Guy) section about what is universal and what's not. Sorry but I don't know how to ad the link here

Bumping yet again. The rebuild has begun. I've decided to go orange with a fat, flat black racing stripe up the middle following the natural contours of the plastics. Possibly w/ a pinstripe, still undecided on the pin stripe tho. Bought another XB9s to rebuild, not sure if we're gonna keep it tho. Well, it's not an "L" but it has the yellow spring on back and lowered forks up front. Those are coming off that bike and going on to mine. :D:D I've been looking for the lowered suspension w/ no luck, and then it falls in my lap. No complaints here hahahah

Mmm orange and black, the same colours I'm going with on my '04 XB12R. Bright orange wheels, already have an orange screen and BUELL detail on the airbox. Gonna carbon the rest.

Anyways, get some pics up! We all like to see stripdowns and rebuilds.

It also broke 1 of the connector plugs behind the guage cluster...not quite sure what to do there.

I have a spare wire harness. I can cut off the connecter needed and you splice in. Simple. PM me with a list of things you need. I still have a fair amount of stuff left over from a bike I parted out

@ oldgit, yeah I'm also spraying a flat clear coat over her too. I have the Amber rims, but they look like more of a Rootbeer in color to me:D & I think I'm goin to texture the side rails. I saw a few pics of 1 on here & I really like the look. I'm pondering a true hammertone or truck bed liner lol It's tough as nails and I think it will look good. If it doesn't, then back to the drawing board.

@ jakestolar pm sent & my Uncle is an electrician by trade so we spliced the wires. If that will work without problem then I think I'm good. But if you don't think that will work I'll probably get the plug from you

also I want to post what I need here for whoever reads that might have these parts laying around.

I'm in need of the L & R module, handle bars, tail section, R fork tube, ignition switch w/ keys, and I think that's it

So the plastics are painted and the last coat of flat clear just went on. I've been taking pictures and I'll try and upload later.(I always have a hard time getting them on the forum) Still looking for some parts too. *hint hint :D

O and a quick question, If I do the tail swap to make my "S" an "R" can it be ran w/out the fiberglass cover, as in just the subframe? Also, will the frame spacers to raise the tail section work on an "R" tail? I have no clue so any info is appreciated.

Nice its good to see some more orange/black bikes out there. Im looking at getting orange pin stripes for my wheels and maybe some orange Buell decals for the tank. Already have the orange/ black seat so I just went with it.

I'm not sure what year and model your bike is but I have a set of forks off my bike from when it was conveted to a SCG. Its an 09xb12Ss. If yours are bent and these are compatible and your interested let me know.

Appreciate it man. I absolutely love the color scheme. But hey, I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it.

I think they're compatible, but I just bought a fork for the right side.(the only side I need) on Ebay that needs to be rebuilt[sad] I'd much rather deal w/ you guys on the forum. But Oh well
