Hello board.

My first post and my first Buell - and where Im living, Cambodia, it their first Buell.

I have an XB12Ss 2009 if you had not guessed from my username. The bike has just hit 2600 miles and is in great shape from what I can see. Is it me, is it my bike or is it just normal for the gears to be a bit tough? Its the most up-to-date bike I have ever owned and I was really hoping for some smooth gear shifting after some of the old clunky bike Ive had in the past

Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum.the hard shiftting is normal.mobil1,amsoil in the trans helps not sure whats available in cambodia as far as synthetic goes though

Compared to the 1978 Honda I had, my Buell is smooth as silk. Everything is relative.
A way worn out tranny will shift very smoothly before it falls apart. :D

had the same issue with mine when i got it. thought something was wrong with it. its american, unrefined, plain and simple. it is a buttload of fun tho. give it a few weeks itll feel normal to you eventually. welcome~!

Thanks for the responses guys.

Pretty sure I can find some Mobil1. What is your guys take on Top1 oil? A beer company here is sponsoring a ride to the coastal town of Sihanokvile. One of the perks is a free oil change with Top1.
