Check this out guys, I trade off a old mustang for a 07 XB9s...I make the trade bla bla bla. look closely and its a City X!! Some one in this bikes past painted a perfectly good translucent Blue cover and pulled the X off the top!! No accounting for taste! Those things run 230 dollars! Any way to get this paint off of here easy? Maybe some kind of paint remover?

I think your sol paint removers are going to eat the plastic. If you do find something post it I'd love to know.

Put some brake fluid in a small spray bottle and mist the painted piece. Let sit for 5 min and wipe the paint off, repeat as needed. Great way to remove paint from plastic without damaging it. Then a headlight restore kit, followed by some Novus should have the cover looking like new.

do NOT use brake fluid. It will spot the plastic if you miss wiping it off in a certain area. Non-chlorinated brake clean will work will. I used it on my clear blue air box and it did wonders.

I'd use some lacquer thinner on some rags and spend some time wiping the paint off. It's not strong enough to hurt the plastic. Once the paint is off, check the surface to see if it's been scuffed up to make the paint stick to it. If so, use some high grit sand paper to smooth the dull & surface. Then clear coat it.

Im reading all of this late.. on another forum they recommended oven cleaner to remove Krylon Fusion from Plastic.. Its sitting on there as I type this.. Ill get back with you guys.

Just in case someone needs this answered, I used "Kleen Strip" standard paint stripper on my xb plastic and it didn't affect the plastic at all. I should say I didn't have the translucent plastic on it though.

The great thing about our XB plastics is the color of the plastic is through and through, so a nominal scratch can be removed with polishing or buffing, whereas on typical plastics a scratch can remove the outer coating and expose the base material. With painting or clear coating XB plastics you loose the beauty of this feature.

Easy off worked great as long as you did it in several treatments... until I fell asleep with a coat of that stuff on there overnight.. woke up and the rear screw holes had cracked.. its still usable though.
