I've only been a Buell owner for a couple of months now after wanting one for years. While the vast majority of my friends think I've lost my mind for getting the XB9S because "they don't make Buells anymore" the members of this group rarely ever preach the "gloom and doom" of Buell's "nonproduction" status, preferring instead to share knowledge and information and continue the pride of simply owing a piece of motorcycling history.

So give yourselves a big pat on the back for the support and kind words, not to mention sharing the excitement of owing one of the world's most innovative motorcycles. It's great being a part of the group - a group who truly understands ownership.

Thanks guys (and girls)!!!!!

Being out of production is often on the back of my mind. It doesn't affect my normal riding when I'm out on a saturday/sunday morning, but I definitely take it easy in normal situations, avoid the highway for wasted miles, usually avoid gross weather, and definitely appreciate all the well spent miles. I can't get as upset with it as other people have because I bought my bike after Buell closed, so I knew what I was getting into. Only time will tell how much of a nightmare it is to find a new drive belt or engine part 10 years from now though.

I feel the exact same way! We definitely aren't in denial about the fact that our bikes are going to be more difficult to own now but we truely love our bikes. I personally keep mine just because there is none that compares.

The fact that they are not made anymore only adds to the appeal for me. I left Buell a couple of years ago and went to BMW . Quickly realized i missed everything about the Buell and came back just in time. The friends i've made with my Buells are to numerous to mention and i wouldn't trade that for anything. My BMW never brought me the satisfaction of my Buells . As long as we have an outlet like BuellXB.com we'll keep the public aware of americas ONLY sportbike . :D

Only a problem if you're going to keep it for more than 50 years.Hell you can still rebuild a 1955 sunbean or a 1968 bsa and they have been out of business ALOT longer! Ride and be happy that you don't see the same bike at every stoplight.

Try telling EBR about the gloom and doom. Type in 1190rr/rs, harley releases their death grip on EBR in FEB 2011
