What do you all think of the DC Maryland area. I think I may have a job with DHS and I don't want to move there due to the horror stories we hear in the gov sector but I would more than double my salary in 3 years and then I could move where ever I wanted. You guys think I should tough it out and shoot for the stars?
no one uses turn signals, every one goes 85-90 on the highways. you have to be aggressive, can't make any hesitations or unpredictable movements. and at some point you will be rear ended. most often while sitting at a red light.
I second Nuage you have to be an aggressive defensive driver there are lots of bikes and cops def look for to pull you over and people ignore you. Look 4 times in DMV.
Work wise a gov job is great the housing market is going to kill you though. Just cost of living but if you can stack some dough and leave after your slary jumps and the next company match it you'll be sitting pretty.
