Wow that looks like it hurts! I am a walking example of how much leather is worth it. I slid 100' down the road, and only had a small scrape on my hand where the road wore through the glove. despite the damage to the bike, it was actually pretty fun.

I'm glad someone else said it first, but I'm with you on that one. My gear and bike would disagree with the "funness" factor, but oh well.

You know what amazes the hell out of me though, I went on a poker run a couple weeks ago with my full gear on... I had about a couple people there giving me **** about it. The whole "only ******* need gear" attitude just blows my mind.

I know the feeling I get aren't you hot in all that stuff? I say hell yeah I am but I'd rather sweat my ass off and take a shower then change out bandages on road rash or worse.

I have mesh jacket but the leather pants are a different story.

Yeah I know what you mean, I caught hell just putting a one piece rain suit over my leathers for a poker run. Skid lids are prevelant among American riders even here in Germany.

when i was in france every rider I saw looked like they would clean house in the AMA. and these people were just communing. but everyone of them had full leathers, and if they had their girls on the back they had the same full leathers boots glove full face. I bought the mesh bionic jacket from alpinestars i almost feel like i need more. i flipped myself over the bars in a damn parking lot and knocked myself up enough to realize how much I don't want to come off my bike again. I think once I come back and start riding in Texas I'll be buying full leathers.
