I was put onto these stands by a review on my 600RR forum. The reviews were very positive and the price was VERY appealing! I needed a rear stand quickly because I had a gear indicator installed in my RR gauge and I need to run the bike so it can learn the gears. As you see in the last pic it can't be ridden to do this. I wanted Pit Bull stands but can't afford them right now. So I went with these for the time being.

Don't hesitate to buy these if you are on a budget!  Im still going to get a set of Pit Bull stands because I have two bikes and will need another set and because these don't have an option to lift from the lower triple tree. But other than that these stands are a STEAL!! I'm going to have to pay a visit to 5-0 Dro and get his spooled sliders so I can use them with the Buell too.

Here is the link to them: KapscoMoto.com: Gorilla Stands Use discount code "ADVRIDER" at checkout. I paid just below $71.  Took a little longer to get to me because they arrived at the local UPS facility over the holiday weekend, but shipping is fast. I ended up getting them last night.  Assembly was a breeze, sticker charged them with some stickers I've had laying around from buying stuff, and I put them to use immediately.

They are very solid stands.  For the price these cant be beat!  I don't know what took me so long to get a set of these or any other stands for that matter.  I can already tell these will help A TON with routine maintenance and cleaning.

On to the pics:

Is the rear stand wide enough for the rear swing on a Buell, meaning can they actually set up under the sliders, or do the set up further towards the front of the swing arm. I have a vortex and its not wide enough for spools, and it's caused some dings on the bottom of my swing arm.

Good question, I didn't even think about the Buell being wider. I'll check it out tonight when i get home and report back. :|

It looks like you can pull the piece that connects to the spool and put them in from the outside to get the size you need.

After watching bike after bike fall off subpar stands, I'll stick with my PitBull stands.

They won't work putting them in from the outside because the bar will hit the swing arm and it would be too wide then too.

I know PitBulls are the best and I want to get a set of those too (I need another set for the Buell, so I will get a PitBull set as well), but for the price I assure you they are rock solid stands. I read a couple page thread on my 600RR forum before I made the decision to buy them. I didn't want wobbly, cheap stands that had me guessing if something was going to break while lifting the bike or while working on it. And I won't just buy any old thing because of a cheap price tag. I like quality stuff even if I have to pay a premium price. But I also love finding something like these that is quality with a good, anyone can afford price tag. There wasn't a bad comment in the whole thread from anyone who purchased so I gave it try because I needed stands fast to get my Honda put back together (which it still isn't). [mad]

Now, onto fitment with the Buell. I was going to wait until I got 50 Dros axle sliders and take pics but i cant get them until maybe next payday. But, I THINK they will work. It is tight though. I propped the bike up so it was almost standing straight up and pushed the pins all the out to make it as wide as possible. With the bike standing nearly straight up and down there is a little gap between the swing arm and the spool bracket. The padded front part of the bracket does seem like it may rub on the swing arm when you first start lifting. I'll let the pics show you better. I'll be getting Dro's sliders soon and will report back again whether they work with them or not. I just wanted to post them for someone looking for quality, affordable stands. Never gave the Buell's oddities a thought before I posted. They might not be your best choice for a stand for your Buell, but if you have a second bike that is a little more standard (like I do) these will work great and not make your bank account cry.

Bike is almost completely straight up and down in the pics.

OK. I got 5-0Dro's sliders in Friday. I didn't get a chance to install them until tonight. The sliders are really nice and VERY easy to install. Thanks Dro!

Onto the stands working. They do not. [mad] It is really close. The rear stand needs to be about 1/2-3/4 inch wider and they would fit nicely.

I guess Pit Bulls for the Buell it is. Not that that is a bad thing. Like I said I was going to buy them anyways, for a second set of stands.

I have the cycle gear brand and they barely fit with the asb swingarm spool/sliders. It works and its stable but does not get the tire completely off the ground with the higher profile bt003rs in 180/50/17. Worked fine with my pilot road 3's though.

Looks sturdy. Guess you gave BLT that with your bike you sold too huh oh9?[confused]

I'm not recommending this, but just thinking out loud - would it work to insert the gold-colored part (that contacts the spool) from the inside, instead of inserting it from the outside? That would space them further apart at least. Don't know if the stand itself would then clear the bottom of the swing arm or how balanced or stable it would be.

If it adjusting the stands by - laying it on its side, standing on the side on the ground, and pulling upward on the other side - didn't work, I would try using a jack to spread the sides apart.

They do work with the Buell! I didn't have to pull on them very hard (not because they are weak and bent). They actually have enough free play to just pull them outwards a little and they rotate out more than enough to fit on the spool part of the sliders.

The front was a little weird. On the Honda the forks sit nicely on the padded area like they should. On the Buell the the bracket rotates up the back side of the fork and the suspension adjustment actually rests on the rear pad of the bracket. The only thing I could tell that was making it do that was the sliders. The bracket looks like it hits the slider on the way up pushing the bracket to the rear. It IS still pretty stable there and the suspension adjuster is really solid. I'm going to try and drill another hole (for the cotter pin) a little closer to the fork bracket so the bracket edge sits out a little further than the sliders and see if that gets the forks to sit correctly on the pads.

Either way, they do work with Buells and for $71 these were a steal! The only thing I wish they did have was a way to lift from the swingarm itself. They do sell a stand with swingarm brackets but those brackets do look a little sketchy from the pics.
