Got a little carried away with some basic mods.

So I recently purchased my first bike ever which happened to be a 07' Buell XB12Scg with 7100 miles on it. I could not be any more happy with the purchase. The bike came practically stock besides an additional touring flyscreen which I then replaced with the original small one.

I joined this forum and started reading up on some basic mods/maintenance you can do yourself and pretty much ordered all the parts for what I wanted to do at once. This forum RULES by the way.

I figured I'd start with some basics, so I ordered a case of Mobil1 20w50 and a K&N 177 oil filter.

Then I figured, well, why not do the rest of the really easy stuff? Well, a couple hundred bucks later and this is the list of stuff I got.

I sent my exhaust, cheese grater and ECM to Randy at Hawk Performance (he turned it around for me in less than 12 hours...amazing)

I also bought Bar End Mirrors, New Front Turn Signals, License Plate LED Lights, ECM Cable (not touching this yet, need to do more reading on proper tuning), Integrated Tail Light, Buell matching paint to redo the subframe so it matches the frame and a CRG Brake Lever (bike came with CRG clutch lever and stock brake lever? weird)

I got NGK DCPR9EIX plugs and all the components to do a breather re-route. Figured I'd do these together so I don't have to take of my airbox twice.

So this weekend will be filled with putting together all of these things. Did I go too far? :p

I'm still in the process of getting subframe spacers, right side air scoop (hopefully getting one from a forum member) and the airbox delete mod from ASB (in the future)

I also want to get some axle sliders from 5-0Dro. He seems like a totally nice dude on this forum, so once I get some cash for that, I'll be getting some. Better safe than sorry, right?

Of course, I will post pictures as soon as I'm done putting all the stuff on this weekend. Right now, my bike is in pieces in my garage.

Definitely didn't go too far!.... I did almost the EXACT same thing in the exact same order.... With the exception of the matching buell paint, the 5-0dro axle sliders, subframe spacers, and airbox delete...

Definitely don't skimp on the axle sliders!!!.... I went down yesterday because a jackasses pulled out in front of me and then drove off, and my left fork would have been TOAST if not for some homemade axle sliders I did... Also my Jardine GP1 exhaust pipe and rear sliders saved my swingarm from some pretty good rash....

Sounds like you're well on the right track with excellent investments in your ride....

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the compliments! [up] Not because we sell them but axle sliders have proven their worth time and time again and in my opinion they are a "must have" mod. Our case sliders have also been very successful. We have them stocked when you're ready. Let us know if/when we can help!

5-0dro parts are great quality, I hope I never have to test out if they work.

Well.... Speaking from very recent experience.... Axle sliders are a good investment [up][up]

All those mods sound pretty similar to what I've done, except I'll add that you should definitely get frame pucks for your bike if they don't have them already.

It came with frame pucks, so I get to save some money on that! Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe the axle sliders will be my definite next purchase.

I agree...get pucks then see me for the axle sliders. Both worth their weight in gold if you drop your bike!
