I was riding today and smelled somethen hot from under the seat. So took the seat off and found this relay with melted plastic and wires were extremely hot. I got the part # just need to know what it goes to. # is 38330008 is the 1st #, the 2nd is 31504-91B.
I haven't got a chance to buy a book yet, so any help would be great

That's likely the relay they use for the charging system "upgrade"

Most people just ditch the entire harness and go back to stock.

^^ guess I never heard of that recall but relays get stuck shut and "weld" themselfs together all the time. I'd start there.

It was not a recall... Just a "voluntary upgrade"

now on the upgrade was it just a different relay or was it the whole harness too? and i assume that you have to go to the dealer for it.
