Got my powder coated parts back finally

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with it. He used just a color he had in stock and it's nearly a perfect match. He really did a good job taping off all the threaded areas and areas that the forks go through, etc... There are a couple minor things but hey there's always something...I'm pretty hard to please (sort of a perfectionist) but I'm very happy with these parts. Will have him do my wheels in the future and maybe some other parts.

Now I can FINALLY put my bike back together!

Hey, looks good snrusnak.. what is the powder maufacturer and product number? it's a great match to the "fluid silver".. (maybe a bit more on the "metallic" side?)

I actually didn't even ask or pay attention, he picked it all out. I'll look on the invoice and see if it says later on today and post it up. If it doesn't say then I'll call him and ask. I want to say it was a dupont color...I'll find out.

It's a close enough match that two parts bolted up together you can't tell the difference. If you tried to touch up over the stock color you'd probably notice though.

Stop slacking and put the damn thing back together already :D

Looking good !

Colors are "satin black" and "bengal silver". I *think* the manufacturer was dupont. I'll call him sometime in the next week or so and verify the manufacturer...this week is busy so I'll follow up next week or maybe this weekend...

I just realized I forgot to update this. The manufacturer is NOT Dupont. He has Dupont colors (along with many other manufacturers), but what he used on my bike was "Tiger Drylac Bengal Silver".

Hi , the pieces look real nice man , congrats [up]

Where did u have it done?? is it near your area or did u mail the parts ,?? also how much for the whole job ?? if u dont mind me asking ..

Was just thinking about your bike yesterday. I was wondering if you got it back together yet. Looks like a top notch job. It's pretty awesome he matched the color so close.

Thanks. It was local, at Central Florida Powder Coating. REALLY nice work. They are about 45 minutes from me, and there are at least 2 or 3 closer companies, but I heard about CFPC through my father in law who works for a guy that does a lot of business through CFPC (for their company). He highly recommended them, said they do great work at a good price. They did a very good job masking everything off, all I had to do was clean up a little residue left behind from the tape adhesive, took like 5 minutes. Edges are nice and clean. Total cost was $140.00, I didn't think that was too bad. He said whether I did one little part or 10 it was basically all the same price. I was going to do the passenger peg brackets and it was only like $10 more but I'm not going to use them so decided not to do them.

I will be doing my wheels there in about a year when I need new tires. Probably will do the swingarm at that time, and the rear caliper mount. Maybe both calipers as well. Then down the road if I really tear down the bike, maybe the frame...

The worst thing I can say about them is they took longer than they said. Sort of unprofessional but he apologized and said they just got overwhelmed with work. He told me originally 8-10 days (I assumed business days) and it actually took IIRC like 3 or 4 full weeks.

Oh here's where I'm at right now...will be working on it all tomorrow and hope to have it near done.

I've been cleaning up the corroded hardware and that's taking forever, if it wasn't for that I'd be done likely...

Tomorrow by end of day I should be able to start and ride it up the street. Probably won't have a front brake yet or front fairing assembled though. The following weekend should be 100% done, with fresh engine and trans oils, and new K&N intake filter as well.

Thanks for the info my friend .. 140 sounds really good to me , but I dont know much about that stuff .. lol.

I think Im goona try to find a place like that near my area ( Miami )

Im buying my bike next month , but whatever color I get Im gonna have it coated all black and grey ... thats why I wanted to know more about this ;)

And if you can't find anyone good (go by reputation, IMO), you could mail your parts to this guy. He said they get stuff mailed in from all over the country.
