Here is the bike i bought off the bank for 500.00. I got is started and it has 25k on the odo, is that alot? should i do a rebuild? It will only run connected to the batt on my truck im hopeing its just a dead bat and not some charging issue(any idea guys?) Parts list as for now 2 front foot pegs, left hand front turn signal, left hand part of the handlebar, so far thats all i found wrong.

for 500 bucks?
you could fix it up and ride the snot out of it or part it out and make your money back plus.

being a buell board though most of us would probably like to see it back on the road :D[up]


for the charging issue it could be the stator, the voltage regulators are a known weak link and after they go the voltage regulators tend to follow if you don't catch it.

but it could also just be the battery
 
25,000 miles for the age is not too bad. I wouldn't rebuild it unless it doesn't run and a mech tells you the engine is shot.
 
Wow, good find. Hopefully it is just minor issues. It also has the color matched undertail with the integrated signals and brake lights, just like my 03 used to have, nice.

how do i check the stator? Its been not run for id say 8 months or so and stored in cold storage im hopeing the battery is just frozen. how do i polish the headders? this is my first non jap bike. It idles fine around 1k and I let it run for 30 mins its 14 degrees out here and the throttle was crisp and smooth. the back seat rattles like crazy any way to tighten it down?
 
www.buellsterparts.com, and check your dealer. A lot of times they aren't too different in price. It looks like you will need the bracket for the front fairing, too

sorry I have no idea on checking the stator but somebody will probably chime in here for you on that.

as for the headers start with a green scotch bright pad and wd-40, after that I used mother mag polish and the pipes turned a bright silver, after riding for not too long they will turn gold.
 
ok as far as the front fairing i put it back on. I had to remove the plug off the key switch because i have no keys. The dealer wouldnt cut me keys but they let me order a new key set(ignition trunk, and gas) how do i remove the gascap and the trunk to change the locks out. Im going to warm my bat to room temp and charge it and see if it comes back to life if not ill buy a new one. Sounds like a good plan delta I want to clean the whole bike and polish wheels and paint muffler but my garage is not heated and im trying to tell my wife I just have to put it in the spare room in the house.....(she isnt biteing so i think a bribe needs to be made)
 
freakin unbelievable... if that was here in aus it wouldve still fetch somewhere in the vicinity of 5000AUD and considering that at present our aussie dollar buys one our 1 and a bit USD then this is a crazy deal! wow!!!
 
no i havent got a new bat yet im warming this one up and going to put it on the charger if it dont work ill pick up a new one
 
sounds like just a bad battery you can check the voltage reglator and stator with a digital volt ohm meter.
check voltage with cable hooked up should be about 12-12.5
start bike now should be 13-14 volts DC
if so charging system is good
