Seeing as you bought it from the bank, my guess is it's been sitting a while.

I'd put a new battery in it, and then get some fresh gas.

if it's running hooked up to your truck, that means your battery is shot/dead/not worth keeping.

Oh, sorry didn't see the key question.

I'd go to your local Harley/Buell shop and see if they can order you a new key for that VIN#.

That or get crafty with your lock picking skills, then you can go to Buellsterparts.com and you can usually order new lock/key set.

you can drill out the gas cap &passenger seat lock if you cant get the key , more details in another thread ,

take the forum tour, you will find lots of goodies and info. (it is a self guided tour LOL. just joking ,but the site is full of good info, )

keys, you should be able too remove the whole tail section to get to thee tumbler. Question are they only getting you keys ,or and tumblers? Cause if they just get you keys don't drill anything! Lock smith can re-key everything to foy the locks. If you get both, then drill slow. You don't want slivers of metal in your fuel tank. If you remove rubber gasket on the fuel cap....around the key slot... You can pry the metal cover that had the slot cover....careful it had springs in it...you can use strong flathead screwdriver, after you drill it out, you should be able to twist it out....if you get the cap off safer to get aftermarket cap. That will save you keys!! Thats why i know this stuff.

Great find. Doesn't look like there's anything there that you can't work your way through. Shi**y of the dealer to not order you a key off the VIN. Just robbing you of the cost of a lockset.

it was a local repo i kinda know who used to own it he is sketchy as hell so id rater have the all new lockset Im thinking of sending the muffler away i read good things about hawk and Its winter anway.

yeah i would def go hawk great guy with a great product and an even better price! hear nothing but good things about the guy.. if i ever come by a reasonably priced stock pipe he will def be getting a call from me as of right now i will just keep my drummer.. great find on the bike! and good luck with the lock situation!
