Welcome, the 1125 is my first bike as well. Listen to the advice, take it slow, respect the machine, read, re-read and watch the Keith Code material.

You can confirm the presence or lack thereof by removing the left radiator pod cover. The ECM is mounted under it. If it has the words "Race Use Only" on a sticker or engraved in the plastic it is the race ECM. The advantages include more power (which neither of us need for a good long while) and smoother engine power delivery at lower RPM's.

Ok it's definitely worth it to me then if it's a smoother delivery of power in the lower RPMS.... that's probably my biggest and really only issue with riding this bike so far. Any ideas on what i'm looking at $$ wise for that?

325ish shipped. You can get one for a stock exhaust unless your going to purchase a new exhaust at the same time. And you can always send your race ECM in for a reflash for a fee if you change exhaust later. ( i think it was 90 bucks)

Heard something weird on the bike today. While cornering to the right it sounded like a semi high pitched rub. No grind or anything just a rub. No idea where it came from.
