I just installed a new handle bars on my STT it is not that wider from the original or in different shape it is just looks a bit better from the original, my problem is with the throttle cable, it is reaching to place but it is tight and when i turn the handle bars to the right the throttle will stick.
Is there a sense to go below the air filter to look for some more free cable that can be relocated?

Thanks

I have this happen to me all the time. Key is trial and error. Find the best way to route your cable.

THIS^^^^ It took me a few times of tightening things up and then loosening back and forth. I took the flyscreen off and like Loki says I rerouted a bit and found a happy medium for the cables to feed through and around the triple.

I put dirt bars on mt XB-R, and routed the throttle cables behind the top triple tree, and next to the steering stem. No problems lock to lock. They are not pictured here, but they run in front of the gas cap, and behind the risers and triple tree. There is just enough room that they dont get pinched at full left lock.

Thanks guys, unfortunately after playing with the cables the throttle now sticks at any position, i tried only with throttle open cable and it works fine but when adding the throttle close cable it sticks.
At throttle body all connected fine so my guess is the the close cable is broken somewhere :(

Price in US 40$, price in Germany 100$ :(

i changed my bars to drag bars and it took awhile
to fig it out
routed them across and below front motor mount
werks great

Try loosening your switch housing. On some XB bikes I have seen, if you tighten the right switch housing too tight, it will bind the throttle tube. I have mine tightened to the point where if I let go of the throttle, it will stay open on a smooth road. If I hit a bump in the road it will close the throttle.

Just shorten the bars a half inch on either side. You won't notice the difference and the cable won't stick

Found the problem!!
Just before i went to order a new cable i decide to try a theory i developed, as i said the throttle was sticking all the time now even when at default set up so i cut the return cable end and made a cut of 2cm in the outer cable, put back a "screw on" cable end and it works!
my theory was that when i played with the cables i bent them several times making the outer cable stretched.

After fixing the throttle sticking
i striped the cables from the rubber protection and this gave me exactly the extra length i needed
