Wow dad, hope he is a kid with lots of motorcycle experience. I got my kid a brand new nightster for his first bike. He trashed that thing and layed it over multiple times. Looking back on my $12000 mistake. I wish I would have bought him a crappy honda instead.[sad]

So how is he doing on the bike. I have a friend with one and they kinda sound like a roided out dirtbike. Definitely the most awesome wheelie bike on the planet. Its like this bike was built for them.

Yeah, that's an awesome gift, but I hope he's got a ton of riding experience already. I can't even remember how many times I dropped the xt550 I started on. I'd hide the passenger pegs and make sure he passed his MSF course with flying colors! Just want to make sure he stays safe(as I know there's no way I would have on that thing)!

That definitely sucks though. At least his dad got it broken in before he dropped it a couple times.
