Hard shifting Transmission

Hey guys Im in need of help of troubleshooting a problem. I have a 2003 XB9S with 11100 Miles on it and I am having some trouble shifting.
The lever is really hard to click up or down, but is much easier if you add 750rpms or so then click and let out the clutch any suggestions?

Check your primary chain tension and change the trans (primary) oil if you haven't yet. These Sportster engines are sensitive to chain adjustment as well as oil level and even type (to a lesser degree). My bike felt like crap when I bought it but the chain was too loose and the oil level was WAY too high. Easy fix and now it feels as it should.

Agreed, adjusting the primary to the correct tension made a big difference in the smoothness of my transmission (it got fairly loose between services).

could be clutch drag too; plates worn and not engaging/disengaging clutch all the way

I pull my clutch all the way back to the handle bar every time and it have quite a bit of tension. Adjustting the chain and changing the oil to Mobil-1 10w-50 is that a do it your self or should I take it to the local shop thats handled most of my work. I dont wanna go to a buell dealer as the closest one is over 2 hours away

Definitely a DIY - How-to Vids on here about changing oil and the Chain Adj. is simple. Take off the smaller Primary cover (1st pic) and you'll see the below (2nd pic) and adjust accordingly. Better yet, just grab a Service manual off of Buellmods.com.
