What is the 411 on this topic? is it only on some buells or is it on all buells? How much is it? I heard it was true and it was $3000 per unit. Anyone?

Kickbacks? To themselves?

Harley Davidson offered rebates to dealers to get rid of their remaining stock of Buells in a hurry. I don't think it was required for dealers to do the rebate thing.

Anyway, it was $5000 rebates on 1125s. $3000 on everything else.

Its not required. Beartooth Harley in Billings Montana still has a full inventory of Buells at full price and never offered any at discounted prices and never will. The rebate was so dealers could offer the bikes for 3 to 5 grand off msrp but still make the same amount as to not hurt the dealers bottom line. Why a dealer wouldnt offer the discounted prices is beyond me. They dont lose any money. It come down to their attitude I think. (We dont care about Buells or Buell buyers and we are not giving you any reason to buy one, including a discount!) Those dealers can kiss my Buell lovin butt!!!

Were not talkin Vincent Black Knights where they only made a couple hundred of them. As much as I love my Buell. I dont think they will ever be collectors items like that. If your holding on to a Buell hoping some day it will be worth tons of cash as a collectors item, I think you will be dissapointed.

triple 7, I second your comment. I bought my Buell to ride the hell out of it. Collectors item my arse, ride it, don't hide it.

There may have been HD strings attached to the rebates, such as, "Thou shalt promise to continue servicing Buells." If so, then some dealers may not have wanted to do the deal.

Wow, never thought of that. Can you imagine buying a brand new bike and then the dealer saying "sorry we are not going to service it for you." I'd drive that bike right back through their window where they could pick it up!

I'm not saying that is the case, but it just occurred to me, since so many HD dealers just were never into Buells in the first place.

I think this is the case, i just went to topeka ks. harley/buell dealer to pick up some part for my winter mods, and i was talking to the new parts counter guy and he said that they closed down lawrence ks. buell, and movied all enventory (and techs.)there, and that they were contracted for 7 years for the buells services,

sorry for the run-on
