I have to rebuild my firebolt and was thinking of getting the kit out of JP and jumping a few more cc's but don't know if its worth it? It's a $1000 for new jugs and wiseco pistons rigs ext.

More displacement is always good. My brother has a sportster and did the 1250 kit with nrhs or whatever that company is. His bike is pretty strong, it's faster than my buell.

I did the 1250 NRHS kit for my race Buell.
Nice guy and answers all Questions! His web site also has much needed information as well.
He can also pre- install the pistons (Rings) into the clynders if you wish.... easy to install and saves time that way!
Kit come's with all you need. I upgraded to the full gasket kit. You Cant go wrong with this kit!

I've had this conversation myself some time ago. Ertic is not alone in his opinion. 'Back in the day', I was playing with Sporty's and NRHS were THE guys. A lot has happened since then that I wasn't aware of. And...if you look at Eric's threads, you'll see that he's no joke....he's a serious player.

Well as soon as I A. win the lottery or B. sell one of my kids on EBay I plan on going with Hammer for an 88 kit, with head work, case boring, and cams. Anybody have any feedback on going big?

Vs buying new jugs, whats the down side to boring the existing jugs and buying the pistons? To me sounds like a cheaper better option.

You can't bore the stock cylinders to a 3-9/16" bore size. There isn't enough material.

I second Dan at Hammer Perf. Very knowledgeable guy, is easy to get ahold of and will answer all questions and provide his professional insight as well. I just sent him my 2010 engine for an upgrade.

The guys that built NRHS' reputation, are the guys that now own/run Hammer Performance. There was some drama back in the day, so Dan and Aaron did their own thing. Hammer-Dan Norlin and Aaron Wilson of Hammer are THE guys to go to!

Dan Dunn @ NRHS has had lots and lots of complaints since; sub-par work and rude customer service that I've read about here, my forum, other forums and have experienced myself first-hand. Aaron and Dan , on the other hand, have always been more than helpful and not condescending when questioned about their ideas of the mods I intend to do. Aaron has actually encouraged me where NRHS-Dan said, "It's not possible."

There's my $.03
