Has anyone successfully...

...painted the orange section of the seat black? If so, how'd it turn out? What methods and products did you use? How has it held up? got pics?

I'm thinking of either trading my parts for black, or painting.

I've painted things in the past and am certain the plastics will come out well, but wondering if the seat can be painted and stay black, especially considering its flexible nature.

Any thoughts?

I think you can get some leather staining kits - leatherz I think? They hold up fine in cars as far as I know. I don't have any personal experience with the kits.

The vinyl die that can be bought at O'Relliy's is great stuff. I believe it's duplicolor. I used it on my faded lightning Select seat.... Never once did it rub off on my pants or fade.

the duplicolor vinyl dye works reasonably well, follow directions on can

I have used vinyl paint on a motorcycle seat before, it worked great and never faded or peeled. I dont see why the buell material would be any different.

Good info for anyone else considering this project but as for me, I traded my orange seat for a black one.
