Hello

I just put a k&n and a hawk exhaust on my stock 09 xb12r....is it recommended that I buy the preprogrammed hawk ecm from ebr?

Thank you

you can but they're quite pricey. you can tune and navigate throughout your stock ecm with tunerpro rt though i've found it daunting to learn and implement....beyond my rudimentary compute skills. your stock ecm will somewhat "learn" your air and exhaust additions if given enough time........so i'm told by the tuner pros. i have a 2010 ulysses with your exact mods and it did this over a day of gentle riding.

My. 09 f bolt liked the stock ECM better than EBR. I agree with finding an alternative way of tuning or just ride it. Mike can help, you just have to find him

Call hawk and talk to Randy sent my exhaust and ecm he modified exhaust and tuned ecm my ulysses has been running great going on 4 years now

Agree with glenn...I did the same thing. Sent my exhaust and ecm to Randy and he flashed his tune. Been running like a champ since I installed both. I have the exhuast, ecm and a k&n installed, along with the breather reroute.

Glenn& reebis: are your bikes 2008+? I didn't think he was able to flash those but I coul be wrong.

I have delt with the same question/issue. I had Randy do my exhaust, put in a K&N air filter and ran with the stock ecm for a bit. It was not bad to start with, a lot pf pop on decel but it did start to learn and it got less and less as time went on (it was in for about 3 weeks during the summer so I was able to ride it every day). I then came into some extra $ so I decided to get the EBR ecm and it really improved everything.
