Does anyone wear a Hawk helmet? I seen them on leatherup.com and wondering how they fit, wind noise, etc. I like them for the price and that they have the dual visors.

I got one a couple of years ago, can't beat the price, not any noisier than my Bell I run now, fit seems to be dead on, maybe a little bit rounder than the bell, only think I would suggest, actually the reason I have the Bell now, pay particular attention to the chin bar locking devices, mine had some screws in the tabs that lock in to the shell, after a year they had fell out, I think they forgot to Loc-Tite them at manufacture.

Thanks Uly. Trying to find a helmet with the dual visor for a good price. I have a Vega now, which i like, just dont have the inner tinted visor like i want. I noticed that letherup sells some cheaper stuff. Thanks for the input.

Nope, no BT, 03F9R, as far as skimping, as long as the DOT is happy it doesn't matter how much you pay for it, I have a strict one use policy, so free re-inspections, LCD automatic tinting shields, 3D Surround Sound with handsfree spoken word GPS, and all the other froo froo crap is not worth another 500 bucks to me, I don't have the money nor need to have the best of the best, it is NOT the helmet that makes the man, JMHO, your experience may vary.

The instructor I had in my motorcycle safety course stated that Snell rated helmets weren't necessarily "safer" just because of the stricter standards they are held to and in some cases are less safe due to not having enough "give".

For the record I have 2 DOT approved helmets, one fairly cheap BILT full face helmet I picked up from Cycle Gear for $100 and an OUTLAW half shell helmet billed to be the thinnest"/lightest DOT approved helmet", which also ran about $100. My point being that in a lot of peoples eyes I may not be the best person to talk quality helmets with.:)
