Hawk muffler mod? 06 Uly

I am considering send my 06 can to Hawk, to have him rework it, or buying a used one on Ebay and having it reworked, What are your thoughts on this as far as noise and power band pros and cons ?

I have an 06 Uly with a Hawk muffler. I also have an 07 SS with the Hawk. My thoughts are that power is good. No issues there. As far as noise, I wear ear plugs. Muffler is kinda loud. I just got back from a 1300 mile trip into Ontario and if I wasn't wearing ear plugs I'd have hearing damage. With that being said I get a lot of compliments on the sound. Some off comments on it being too loud. I think my ideal muffler noise-wise for my Uly would be a race muffler. I still kick myself in the a$$ for selling an older Buell with the race muffler on it. For local terrorization I love the Hawk on my SS.

Have 2006 uly with hawk mod,better sound he can also flash your ECM with race map ,ran good but runs mich better with a IDS ECM mapped for specific mufflers and kn filter $300

If you are going to change the muffler, get an ECM that matches it, or download the correct program onto yours. The difference is huge!

Call Randy Hawkins he's the guy that cuts up your muffler at Hawk he will flash a race map on your ECM .I sent my ECM with my muffler he sent it back with race map or look at IDS ecms $300 each tuned to your specific mods done to your bike like mufflers and KN filters put one on my buell uly and seams to run much smoother now

I don't think the Hawk or the Buell branded Race muffler are very loud. They both sound good though.
