My 09 XB12R was at the hd shop for a week with a irregular idle issue. With all of there scan tools an "know how" they couldnt tell me anything more then what i have already found. They said fuel pressure was good but i'm going to replace filter anyways. It threw code 33 the fuel pump code when i went to pick it up. Tech said its the first he's seen that code. How convenient........... Change fuel filter and go from there. has new plugs, wires, IAC, o2 sensor, checked intake for leaks, TPS has been reset 3 times, not throwing any other codes. Does not do it on initial start up (cold). Any thoughts? Any............

When does the problem occur? Does humidity, cold temps, hot temps, cold start, hot start, overnight start, rain, etc make a difference. What is the problem. Poor idle, stalling, erratic..... Need more details please. Has every electrical connection been checked. Could the shop duplicate the condition?

check for a loose intake butterfly, try a new throttle positioning sensor and a new o2 sensor

It will start doing it after 5 miles of riding (hot). Bikes dry but i am in florida so tons of humidity. ECM has been swapped out an no luck. it doesn't have the irregular idle all the time though. o2 sensor has 3k miles on it. Bike had issue for the whole week it was at the shop.

So say you go for a ride. Bike is warmed up. You pull up to a light and stop. The bike will idle irratic? Is that correct? Does the idle speed hunt or go up and down? Or is it more a misfire like the bike will stall? Or a too high idle or too low idle? Or a rough idle?

it sounds like some kind of intake leak. I've also had people say it could be the engine temp sensor without it throwing a code ( I've always had the ecm throw a code if the tolerance of the ETS acts up though).

happens when bike is up to temperature an when it is not in gear after i coast to a stop. it will go down to 600 rpm then raise to 2000 rpm go back an forth a few. Most times it return to a smooth idle. If i shut the bike off while its doing it, wait a minute and start it back up it will be fine.
