So, I don't have the tools or space to work on my bike. And for the most part, there is no other service place that I've found that will work on my bike due to the fact that they don't work on Buells or Harleys because they don't have the "special" tools.

Every time I take my bike to the HD place, a week later....something else seems to magically just dismantle itself.
I had my brakes replaced there, and when I picked the bike up I noticed some grease on the front right fork...just thought they missed a spot when cleaning it. Today I got to break in my new jacket...I noticed more grease and a small pool of fluid on the fork.

I went there and told them what had happened. And they said they there is no way they could be at fault, since changing the brakes did not require them to mess with the fork in general. Even if this is true, it's become magically strange how things just happen after a repair is done.

I enjoy my Buell XB12Scg, but I am running out of patience with HD and not being able to work on the bike myself. Just in having a Disco, I find myself in a niche place...and getting the around is the key word(s). I have the knowledge and tools to work on it, but it took time and some midnight autoing to get things done. Adding my bike to that scenario will cause issues in my parking garage.

I enjoy the exclusivity, but I may end up selling her and just dunking my head into the main stream of sadness.

For now, just a rant.

Cheers!

but I may end up selling her and just dunking my head into the main stream of sadness.

but you wouldn't be happy, even from your quote its clear that isn't something you want to do. Dont settle and be less happy, do you have any friends that have a garage or shed? its easy enough to buy a cheap tool set, and dig into some of the problems yourself!

Sadly, I do not. I really do enjoy my bike and learning on it has been a blast. I know I don't want to get rid of it, just whining like a child...more pissed than anything. Hopefully I can move to a place with a little bit more room...

Here's the messed up thing. I just realized that they are not replacing the seals...they are replacing the whole "slide pipe com" part :J8143.1AE because he said that is how it's done. They cant just get the seals and fix mine. Is this true? Basically getting a new right fork tube??

2005 XB12Scg

I had the seals replaced by a local shop - not HD. Total cost was around $100 -150 I believe.

No that is not true they can get the seals they are just trying to Jew you out of more money.

Will call tomorrow and verify that the tube is not damaged...and if it's not. I'm getting my muthf@$king bike back.

Cheers!

Personally i wouldn't call to ask if its damaged they can tell you anything they want and damage it if they choose. I'd go get it and take it elsewhere because if it is damaged any shop can replace that to. Harley has already lied to you once what's going to stop them this time? Take it to another shop tell them you need the seals replaced hand them the seals but when you have your bike look the tube over good and check for nicks.

yea no kidding, your just another guys thats spending money to them. go get your bike, and find an independent shop. the forks aren't really a "specialty part" any shop that works on bikes can replace your seals for you.

Well, the HD place of coursed lied...my seal had failed...and it didn't need a new down pipe assembly. Guess they didn't have a mechanic who could break it down correctly. But had to go to another HD shop to get it done....couldn't find another shop local to do it. But hey, Mitsu is a nice guy...sadly he works for HD. Cheers!

Lmao the forks are super easy to take apart and repair. Fuck dealers, not just hd. Never had a good experience at a dealer ever!

The same dealer probably sells new engines over replacing gaskets. What a joke, HD won't ever get my business

How didn't they have tools to replace the seals but had tools to do the lower leg? lol morons
