I have what appears to be a leak in my lower gasket on the rear cylinder head of my 2008 xb12r. I have a bunch of stuff coming up in the next 3 weekends. If I keep the oil levels right is the bike good to ride til mid June when I have time to fix? Or am I setting myself up for major damage?

Is it a bad leak? Use common sense if its seeping out its a bad idea, but these bikes are known for rockerbox and oil leaks in general. It wouldnt concern me if your not loosing too much oil.

If it is a head gasket leak I wouldn't ride it.
If it is a base gasket (sounds like that's what you mean), you should be okay.

Its the base gasket and it isn't seeping. Common sense told me it would be fine but to ask for a second opinion. Lol. Thx guys
