Hey guys Ive done a ton of research but cant seem to find my exact question being answered.... so i found that the connector is absolute garbage which i saw seems to be a common problem .... so i want to just put in bullet connectors to remedy the problem...but im not electrically inclined so i see that there are 4 wires coming from the harness which goes into the female connector... and there are only 3 wires that are on the male end so if I want to put in bullet connectors in how can i connect 4 wires to 3 [confused][confused][confused][confused][confused]

any help would be greatly appreciated im thinking i will half to join 2 wires to create 3 wires from the bundle of 4 that come from the harness?

Bump lol over 10 views please help im trying to go riding tomorrow and would love to get this thing buttoned up for good

high, low, ground, accessory

I don't remember what color is what.

high and low will alternate but you can wire the accessory to keep the low always on.

ok sweet thats a start i can mess around with the accessory to kinda figure it out so when my ignition is on the low and accessory should be hot so i could wire those together? to make my 3 wires so that would mean

accessory + low = 1 wire
high
Ground

if any one knows the color chime in

I would just cap off the low, the accessory should always be hot so connect that with the wire that is actually going to the low and wire the high as normal. Then your low will always be on and people will only tell you your light is out when you aren't flashing your brights. It's been a while since I had an R setup, but I think that's right.

the easy way is to mess around with a circuit tester

well the firebolts actually come stock where they dont shut off the low beam so i never had that problem but if the firebolt already did that then what the **** lol is the point of an accessory wire then?

Head light MOD

so if i go off this it kinda makes sense but then your telling me that the ignition is now the power source for the low beam... so what the hell is the point for having 4 wires you only need 3 correct.... one wire is always a dead wire?

the international version was different, but the wires were still there on both

orange should always be hot

black is ground

it's up to you to figure out whether yellow or white is the high beam

that schematic shows 4 wires going to the the bulbs ..... it looks like this schematic is designed for more lights then what a firebolt has ... so basically the ignition and low beam light is the same god damn thing?

29A (the ones the orange wires go to) were on the international versions of the bikes with additional lights. The wiring should still exist on the domestic version, just no wires connected to it through the plug (which is how we swap the pin for the headlight mod).

I know when I got my bike the lights were not operating at the same time.

ok sweet thanks wolfo68 you have clarified this for me so im going to wire just the ignition accessory to the low beam light and the high beam and ground to the others

so it should look like this

LOW BEAM CAPPED Off at harness
Ignition Accessory to Low Beam
High Beam to High Beam
Ground to Ground
