So I noticed on my way home last night that my headlight was dimming down pretty bad every so often. Anyone ever had this problem before? It sounds to me like the voltage regulator but before I go ordering parts I figured that I would ask you guys what you think first. If it is the voltage regulator, How long do you think that I have before my bike leaves me stranded?

check ur battery connections; if u have aftermarket bulbs might need a ballast; 03-07 xb's have an outdated regulator that was updated in '08, check ur regulator connectors and see if there is any arcing occurring at the pins (if so bad regulator). check ur fuses too, if all if good it might be ur stator.
Thanks 07Bolt. My bulbs are stock no hid's. My bike is a 04, and I have heard about the regulators going bad so I just figured that's what it was. But its not doing it all the time, I just got home from work and it didn't dim at all on the ride home tonight. I'm gonna pull the bike apart and check all my wires this weekend so we will see if there is any problem there. I'm not sure because I just had my bike in pieces a couple of months ago when I polished it and I checked everything then, but who knows... Since my bike is for sale im not really looking forward to having to buy anything for it... Im just kinda hoping that it will fix its self
