I want to have both headlights on for daylight riding, but I want them to look identical (probably both low beams as I rarely ride at night.) Is it just the lenses that are different between low & high beam on the Firebolt? If so, can the lenses be bought separately, or would I have to buy the whole light unit? Thanks.

I've found that if beam switch is right between high / low, both lights are on, no mods to do. I don't care what they look like, just so I'm seen.

both lights will be on, but the low beam projector has what is called a "cut-off." This is a curved metal piece inside the projector that only allows the headlight to shine down low (low on left for oncoming traffic, higher on right for signs).
Here is an example:

If you removed the curved piece from inside the projector, they will look even. It will be like having two high beams.

I don't want to dazzle oncoming drivers by having two high beams. Maybe rather than remove the curved piece from the low beam light, I could fabricate something similar to put into the high beam light. I haven't attempted to get inside the lights yet. Is this a tricky process? Thanks again for all replies.

very easy to remove and open. Maybe you could get one from someone that has removed it from theirs. It would not be a very easy piece to duplicate.
