Hey guys. This is probably a stupid question but does anyone know what the part numbers are for the firebolt low and high beam headlights? My low beam just went out and so I am just going to replace both at the same time. If anyone know the sylvania white #'s that would be awesome as I am hoping to get better light output from my low beam. Or is there a better brand that puts out more light?

Since I have had the bike I have always thought the low beam is awful and pretty much useless at night. Does anyone else agree with this and have any suggestions to improve it other than putting in HID's.?

There are some threads about improving the Firebolt's lighting. Often the reflective coating deteriorates due to heat and age. There are some things you can do about that... search through the threads. I ended up buying a whole new lighting unit and installing HID in the low beam. That wasn't the cheapest solution, but I feel it was money well spent. You need to see where you are going and I ride at night very often.

Just bought these the other day. Seriously just go to your local Autozone or whatever they are, ask for the H3 Xenon 55w. Works easy as pie. Just did it last night took less than 5 minutes. Well maybe six minutes, but still.

So, i hope a valid question,,,,,,,, How good are the H3 Xenons?? or other suggestions? I just DO NOT like the idea of the HID lighting where you have this complicated setup with all the wires and Ballasts, Maybe im wrong but seems way too complicated for something id like to keep simple, While i may do some basic mods to a Buell, largely I think they are pretty good as they came. Not much needed, But most bikes i build are stripped down customs and LESS IS MORE,., less wiring, less gadgets, less crap to go wrong,
So i have some cafe racer projects and a Flat track themed street tracker to build and was looking to use the small
firebolt style lights.

Any helpful feedback appreciated, Ive read thru a lot of lighting threads already, but saw this and figured i would ask.

If you want true HID lighting, you would need ballast(s). Non-HID high performance bulbs like Sylvania Silverstars provide a bit better light than regular bulbs. "Xenon" does not necessarily mean high performance nor does it mean HID. If you want to keep it simple, get the correct sized Silverstars, throw them in and call it a day. Also be aware that the reflective coating may have deteriorated inside the headlight assembly and you may have to address that.

i put hids in my firebolt this spring. it was actually pretty easy. it was all plug and play. havent had any issues. i may have to recoat the reflective coating. but then again i drive alot in the dark and i can see a good mile or more down the road. im running ddm tunning 8000k 55w h3 hid lights.

The H# Xenons that I just put in a couple days ago are brighter than stock I can tell you that. As far as how they compare to everything else, I have no clue. I can tell you that they were easy to install and are brighter than what I'd had. Hope this helps!

I went to ddm and bought hids 8k 35w and there a big big difference in my opinion plus trust me ppl will definitely see u coming lol and as for installation wiring wise all was plug and play I didn't even have to look at the paperwork to figure them out really easy however you might want to drop ur fuse box which is only two t27 screws so its outta your way just my preference even with that took me 5 mins it took more time for me to take off the front and drop fuse box then the lights
