I am in the market for an XB Buell. I have very little preference to which one exactly, they are all very nice. I am in the market for an 03-07, 9 or 12, Lightning or Firebolt. Anyways, I came across an 05 XB12Scg for a good price, but I'm worried that it might be too low. I am only 5'8". I fit fine on an R6 with a seat height of 31.9", the the Scg is about 3" lower. My feet weren't flat on the R6, but I wasn't exactly on my tippy toes either. What do you guys think. Any Scg riders in here please chime in and tell me how tall you are and how you like it, thanks!

I have an '03 XB9SCG and I'm 6' 1" and its too short for me. I'm looking for a XB9S suspension swap with someone as we speak.

I have an 08 Scg and I'm 6'1" It fits perfect for me. I like to be closer to the ground, I don't like to feel like i'm standing, but it's all up to you.

I suppose a lot of it depends on the length of your legs. Beth is on the points of her toes on her Scg, but then again she's only 5-1. If I were you I'd go to the dealer and sit on all of them.

The closest Buell dealer is about 200 miles. The local Harley dealers seem to have never heard of a Buell. The guy who is selling it is about 190 miles away.

I am about 5'8" with a 30"inseam and have a low model, it fits me perfect with the low suspension and a xb12s standard seat. this gives you a 1" lower seat height which to me feels about right

I always promote Buell, but if the closest dealer is 200 miles I think I would consider a differant machine. A good used Dyna can be had for around 8,000 to 9,000.

At 5'8" I don't think it will be too low. I say get it if it's a good deal. If it is a little too low for you, you can easily get someone with a standard S model to trade you seats. There are always more people looking to trade their standard seat for a low than the other way around. That would give you an extra inch, or if you're lucky you could trade for a CityX seat which is even taller. I would have gladly traded my seat for a low one but I have the Ss so the seats don't swap. My wife has a CityX that she tiptoes but won't get a lower seat. As soon as she has a close call getting her footing in gravel or a wet street, she'll change her mind.
