the advertisement for the bluetooth is on this thread at the bottom of the page every time I open it..lmao. Perfect placement for motorcycle superstore!!!

By the way...just to stir things up a bit
O'Neal is a highly regarded offroad ride gear supplier. They make quality helmets and mx boots etc for a cheaper price. Its not Jimbobs backyard brainbucket and I would trust my melon in it just as much as I trust it in my $500 Arai. Adding an appendage to the outside of the helmet scares the bejesus out of me. As well as wearing backpacks on the highway or tying them so-so secure on your backseat...cheap plastic "quick release" helmet straps...exposed primary belt drives..untied shoes . wearing shorts while riding etc etc. Im not paranoid...I learn from other peoples misfortune

Besides ...lets admit here guys. If your listening to music in BOTH ears cranked up while riding...safety probably isnt your first concern anyway.
Just my .02

Horseplay, I was with you all the way up untill the last sentence. For one simple reason... Do you think deaf riders are not concerned about safety?

Im not deaf nor do I know anybody that is, but I cant imagine there is no deaf riders out there.

Just my opinion

I use a pair of $15 skull candy headphones. I actually use them for earplugs instead of music and they work great. It's nice because they come with 2 different sized rubber ear pieces just in case you need a different fit.

I work in a retail electronics store, so I have had te chance to try all kinds of headphones. And so far the best value for in ear earbuds as you are most likely gonna need are the skull candy titans. I was surprised personally at how well they performed inside a helmet over all the noise. IMO a great buy for the price point. Think they are around $40-50.

i have the Q2 on my helmet, and when i first got it it was great!!!

its showing its age these days, and doesnt work as good as she used to. I want their new system that just came out, but its waaaay to expensive!

So i have a pair of sony headphones i use now, i paid about $40 for them at best buy a while back, and they work pretty good

I use to have this same problem. I would use ear buds and my poor ear felt like it wanted to run off my head. My friend told me about this website that shows you how to install small head phone speakers into the pads of your helmet. I went to www.powersportsdirectorymusic.com and clicked on a link that showed a video on how to install the speakers. I went and bought some and it was pretty easy to install and now I ride without my ears hurting, or the ear buds falling out. Not to mention it's safer because I can still be aware of my surroundings and rock out to my music

Here's my vote for the Sena SMH10 bluetooth/intercom. Installed easily in Scorpion EXO1100, Great Battery life, connects A2DP Bluetooth to my Iphone 4 to stream Pandora, Tunein, Ipod, and phone calls. I haven't used the intercom feature so I can't comment on that. The speakers are more than adequate as far as volume goes, fidelity is a different story. I can hear music/phone conversation at 80 mph with race pipe, and the volume is not maxed out, probably 7 out of 10. The large rotary knob is very easy to grasp and adjust volume while riding and wearing gloves. Music pauses on pandora and ipod when placing or taking a phone call and resumes automatically when call ends. Unit is weather proof as well.

If your helmet is snug earbuds dont work, at least in my experience. I put in speakers and its awesome.

I use a Sena SMH-10 for my bluetooth stereo, comm and phone. The bass quality isnt all that great, but everything else is amazing.

After all the recommendations for them in this thread I just purchased a pair of Etymotic MC5's off ebay for $39 (pretty good deal). Fingers crossed they're as good as everyone says. Now, I'll have to start saving up for the Q2's. One thing at a time...
