I found these helmet locks on another post a while back and have been looking all over for them with no luck. Does anyone have the skills to make me a pair of these? Please let me know. Thanks!

wow, that looks easy enough.

Looks like all you need is a small section of sheet metal, a dremel to cut and round edges, and a drill to throw some screws through it.

Ya I would love to get them, they look easy to make I just don't have the area or tools to do it right now

Taylor: link didn't work.

Nice lock! But i like the first design better cause its simple and one less key you got to carry around.

I've got a CNC milling machine I just picked up... I'm still learning how to use it, but this looks like a simple first project.

I bet I could make a set for under $10/pair shipped if anyone is interested.

Do it Tim, CNC would be a hell of a lot easier than plasma, which I was planning on doing.

What taylor posted is pretty cool! But I think locking the helmet using the seat is the way to go.

No worries. I'm playing around with the CAD program this week, I think I can have something done up around Jan/Feb.

I'll keep you guys posted.

I just copied the design of the 1125R helmet lock on my bike, a bit different than the picture at the top of the thread. My exo700 helmet would not fit with the above design, the chin strap was not long enough. If someone is going to make them I would suggest first looking at the 1125 stock helmet lock, better design IMO. I already have to make a few for friends but I won't be selling them. Hopefully someone can mass produce a kit. I still don't understand why the bolt never came with a helmet lock.

My old roomy is the head engineer for a armor company I can see if maybe he can whip up some designs in autocad for you urban

That works. I've got to learn it eventually, so if he can't get to it, no big deal.

Looking at the pics you guys posted, I've got a few ideas already on how I think we can do it.

I'm guessing those brackets require you to drill into that cross-bar? I think I can improve on that and make it a bolt-on. Probably extend the reach using a braided stainless loop for shorter helmets, like Spymac was talking about...

Can someone send me the dimensions of that cross-bar? Better yet, anyone near Co Springs have one I can use as a guinnie pig?

Cool. I'm thinking those screw-in brackets will be easy to kick out, but I can also make a bracket that clamps around the bar so you don't have to drill into it.
